Puffy Eyes Be Gone! HoMedics Skin+ Review & GIVEAWAY

The older I've become, the more interest I've developed in trialing new and improved skin care systems - lol!

It's not that I'm wanting to be younger - I don't! I treasure every life experience I've been lucky enough to have. It's just that I want to make the most of what I have at every given age in my life.

As a result I was excited to accept the offer to trial the new HoMedics Skin+ Cleansing Rejuvenator System.

HoMedics Skin+ Package

Being a beauty blogger I have to admit that I do have a couple of bathroom shelves full of various skin creams, cleansers and moisturisers. This is where the HoMedics Skin+ fits in, it actually helps to maximise the effectiveness of the products you already own! So you can continue using your favourites products with it. Yay!

The HoMedics Skin+ is a 2 in 1 compact and portable skin rejuvenating and cleansing system designed to boost the absorption of your skin care products and thus help hydrate and smooth your skin. That's exactly what this 40+ year old beauty blogger needs!

Homedics Skin+ Cleansing & Rejuvenator System
Ultrasonic Facial Cleansing Brush
This small cylindrical shaped cleansing brush (pictured above on the right) is the perfect size to hold and use. The silicon brush feels soft on your face. It has two speeds - low and high.

It's different to other devices in that it oscillates rather than spins or rotates. This has the benefit of working with your skin's natural elasticity. The sonic action is designed to loosen dirt and oil, remove pollutants and impurities from your pores and prime your skin to better absorb your skin care products.

You wet the cleansing brush with water, apply the cleanser to your face and then turn the device on, moving the brush in small circular movements in the area you want to cleanse.

You only need to use this cleansing brush for 30 seconds in each area, namely your forehead, your nose and chin, and your cheeks. After use you rinse the cleanser off your face. Note you will need to remove your eye makeup by hand first.

I found this brush soothing to use. I felt that the cleansing it provided was actually deeper than what I could have achieved with my fingers alone. I love that this brush allows me to use the cleansing products I already own more effectively.

The HoMedics Skin+ also comes with a makeup applicator pad and powder puff attachment that can be used on the cleansing brush to apply your liquid foundation but as I prefer to use my brushes for this task I didn't trial this function.

Skin Rejuvenator and Applicator
The Skin Rejuvenator and Applicator is pictured in the above photo on the left. This device has four functions: warm (42C) massage and cool (6C) massage, both with or without ultrasonic vibration.

The warm massage setting is designed to open your pores for deep cleansing and help boost the absorption of your skin care products.

The ultrasonic vibration is aimed at strengthening the effect of the massage, improving your circulation, revitalising your skin and giving you a smooth glowing feeling.

The cool massage is designed to help reduce the puffiness around your eye area and shrink your pores for even makeup application whilst brightening your skin texture.

To use the Skin Rejuvenator you apply your existing skin care products to your face and then use the warm massage with ultrasonic vibration mode to allow for better absorption of the skin care products. You then alternate with the cool massage with ultrasonic vibration mode.

HoMedics Skin+ Maximises The Effectiveness
Of Your Current SkinCare Products

I LOOOVE the cool massage with ultrasonic vibration mode! On hot summer evenings when I'm tired and have puffy eyes this works wonders on my under eye area! I'm still searching for my holy grail eye cream but in the meantime this device is helping me maximise the effetiveness of the eye products that I am using. The results are truly amazing!

I have mainly been using the HoMedics Skin+ in the evenings before bed as I feel I get up too early already and don't want to wake up even earlier on a work day to use this device. I do however use the cool massage with ultrasonic mode prior to parties or functions to help me reduce any existing eye puffiness. This function alone on this device makes it worth the money for me!

Both the Skin Cleanser and the Skin Rejuvenator units use a supplied USB cable recharger. I love the fact that no battery changing is required. This system also comes with a velvet pouch for storage, making it convenient for travel.

The HoMedics Skin+ is priced at $149.95 and is available from Myer, Shaver Shop, Priceline and Harvey Norman.

  1. My biggest problem is the magical ability for my face to end up simultaneously congested and dehydrated at the same time! Yes step right up to see the amazing woman who can apply make up only to look like a shrunken lychee!

  3. My biggest skin issue is having to deal with redness. It really is the bane of my life. Ive lost count of the number of times people have informed me that Im sunburnt and then argued with me when I try to explain that im not sunburnt at all. Or they ask why im blushing or they kindly inform me that ive over done the blush. I just keep telling myself that Rudolph had a shiny red nose and was picked on by all the other reindeer but he was the one that saved the day and hes the one that most people would say is their favorite. So if a reindeer can deal with it so can I :)

  4. Wrinkles, crinkles and pimples, I have them all on my face!

  5. This sounds great! I love skincare gadgets. I'll have to look for it here in Canada.

  6. My biggest skin concern is sensitive skin. I have to be very careful which products I use on my skin to reduce skin redness and irritation. Since converting to natural and organic skincare products in recent years the condition of my skin has improved so much.

  7. I really, really need to get more consistent with my skin care routine. I don't always remember to moisturise after my shower every day and being almost 34 I know it's going to really start showing soon! Maybe I need to set a reminder on my phone?!

  8. Ive been eyeing these off at the shops wondering if they actually work. I have open pores naturally but the extreme humidity in north Queensland is making them worse and I have some sun damage for sure!

  9. I have really dry skin and wrinkles. I moisturize and use skin oils but nothing seems to help.

  10. My biggest issue is pigment. It's not as bad these days, but on a hot day, or when I've been in the sun (sometimes unavoidable), I turn into spotty doc. I don't love it.

  11. This homedics tool sounds really interesting and it's great how you can use it to reduce puffiness under your eyes.

My biggest skin concern is dehydrated and dryness especially around my nose - like when it's really bad I get this flakiness which is so unattractive!!

  12. After moving to Australia from a cold northern country, the biggest problem with my skin is the sunscreen! My skin is not used to applying sunscreen on my face for 3 times a day and then swimming in the salty ocean - it is a disaster, it feels like am reliving my puberty years again. :(

  13. Those fine lines creeping sneakily onto my face - Ern.

  14. Spots when I'm most definitely not in my teenage years any more! I thought as life progressed, I'd be rid of the hideous things popping up here and there, driving me crazy with their ugliness (Di)

  15. My skin looks and feels dull and heavy.

  16. my biggest concern would be my pores!

  17. Definitely wrinkles and sun damage. Sigh. Same old story!

  18. My issue is dry skin and pigmentation especially after time in the sun. I have a spot, dear God I think it's an age spot, on my cheek below my eye. It seems to be getting bigger and I'm quite self conscious of it. I'd love to get rid of it.

  19. Puffiness under my eyes due to my long working hours and the sun spots due to, too much time in the sun

  20. I'm a 45 year old granny who has spent too much time in the tropics and lines and wrinkles are paying the price! Would love to try this :)

  21. My main skincare concern is the black bags I have under my eyes, nothing I've used seems to help!

  26. Permanent damage from years of playing roller derby bruises!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am getting bags under my eyes and dark circles. Hoping if I win that this would give me a more fresh youthful look.

  28. My skin concern is the first signs of ageing - a couple of forehead lines, a couple of pigmented spots and getting darker under the eyes. Would be good to nip it in the bud (and to be honest, the massager function alone sounds amazing, even if doesn't do anything!)

  29. Discolouration, sagging and wrinkles are quite a big concern for my skin as I am ageing. I try to use good quality products but the results are minimal and I'm wanting to achieve much more of an improvement. I have heard of the HoMedics Skin+ and it's wonderful features. I would just love to see what results come from using that product.

  30. Ooh this product looks very intriguing. My eyes are so puffy always (I blame shift work) so it looks like something that'd be right up my alley! Wish listed.

  32. Pigmentation. I have olive skin which is prone to this unsightly problem :(

    ReplyDelete
  33. My biggest problem is during the night through many hot flushes I wake up looking like a puffer fish. Being able to have a cooling facial massage before bed may help this. Maybe I'll wake up looking like pretty Nemo instead of the puffer fish.

  34. I have one eye that has a dark circle. Just the one! What is up with that? My other concern is my neck wrinkles. Like little bunched up curtains. They're a bugger ...
But hey, what can you do? It's all part of being Deep Fried.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have a few concerns. T zone oiliness coupled with elsewhere dryness, some blackheads that are super stubborn and, of course, the advent of wrinkles! I've been eyeing these ultrasonic cleaners off at Mecca Maxima... :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I look old and tired (because I am old an tired) and my skin is looking really saggy. It's just depressing. Anything that helps would be a blessing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. This sounds fab! People tell me I don't look my age (I tell them it's because I don't act it!). This would be fun to try.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Dry flaky itchy skin not only looks bad but is truly sore at times

    ReplyDelete
  39. My main skincare concern is my entire face. It's currently blotchy and puffy. My rosacea is really bad near my lip and I don't think there are any dermatologists within a 200km radius of where I live.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Clogged pores are my bug bear. I'd love to get rid of them and I was quite fond of those pore strips for a while. But then I heard they can do more harm than good, like damage the capillaries and I have noticed an increase in those. So now I don't know what to do but this sounds like the perfect solution!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've never used a skin rejunvenator but as I'm now 40 I might just have to look into something like this!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Too much sun, sleeping in my make-up, using cheap cosmetics and poor diet - the effects of my teenage years and early 20's unhealthy lifestyle are starting to show! Turns out Mum really does know best......."always look after the skin your in!".
If only Id taken her advice earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm concerned that my skin is out late partying all night - too much alcohol and not enough water. Now my skin is grumpy and irritable all the time. Please help!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have wrinkles and crinkles and way too many of them!

    ReplyDelete
  45. My biggest skin care problem is I am worried my 6 month old is going to either scratch all my skin off or pull it off while he is breastfeeding! It doesn't matter how often I cut those nails, or how much I try to hold those hands, he finds my skin so calming and soothing. If I win, hopefully I still have enough skin left to use these lovely products! Hahaha

  46. Sarah Fleming sarahdanf@bigpond.com

My biggest skin concern now in my mid 30's is trying to establish what on earth my skin is doing! It is more oily now than it ever was as a teen, with lots of pesky spots and blemishes to boot. What is with that?! Hormones I presume....

    ReplyDelete
  47. Acne scars and large pores, they're the things I mostly worry about but to add to that I'm now getting red marks on my face as well as wrinkles.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Mine is sun damage, freckles and skin cancers. Wish I could turn back time and remember to reapply sunscreen!

  51. What a great product! Since becoming a working mum, I am constantly dealing with tired, puffy eyes!
My main concern is sun exposure and the skin damage it's causing…

    ReplyDelete
  52. My biggest confidence suppressant is rosacea. I am quite pale and even when I wear concealer and foundation it is a little noticeable. I have an issue with tired skin from wearing make up so I often so it would be nice to rejuvenate it for a change.

    ReplyDelete
  53. My main skin concern would have to be skin dryness and lack of glow. I can't wait for my skin to be rejuvenated by this HoMedics Skin Rejuvenation Kit as it hydrates and bringing back that glow that I'm missing.
