Dr Roebuck's EYE

Bright, youthful and glowing skin is on everyone's wishlist when it comes to our eye area, me included!

I have never found a holy grail eye cream yet, so I was more than happy to trial the Dr Roebuck's EYE to see if this cream would finally be my elusive holy grail miracle eye cream!

I've now been using the newly launched Dr Roebuck's EYE for over a month and am comfortable reviewing this cream for you. I don't think you can accurately review an eye cream in any shorter a duration.

Dr Roebuck's EYE

Dr Roebuck's
Dr Roebuck's is an Australian owned and made, all natural skincare brand, created from a treasured family secret.

The brand was originally started over 30 years ago by Dr Roebuck to treat the eczema of his newborn twin girls. These twin girls have now grown up and are running the company!

Every Dr Roebuck's product is tested under the strictest physician supervision.

All Dr Roebuck's products are free from parabens, sulphates, BPA, synthetic fragrances and colours.

Every ingredient used in Dr Roebuck's products is there for a reason. Dr Roebuck's has a minimal ingredients, maximum results philosophy.

Their ingredients are responsibly sourced, their products are ethically created and never tested on animals.

Yes, this brand is definitely ticking all the right boxes for me!

Dr Roebuck's EYE
Dr Roebuck's EYE launched in July 2016 and is available to purchase from the iconic Australian retailer, David Jones for $39.95.

It's accompanying blurb states that it is "designed to prevent premature ageing and vitalise damaged skin by harnessing the rejuvenating benefits of seven naturally potent actives."

Dr Roebuck's EYE

These seven natural potent actives and their roles in Dr Roebuck's EYE are:
  • Coconut Oil - deeply moisturises & hydrates to prevent premature ageing & the formation of fine lines & wrinkles
  • Caffeine - reduces dark circles & bags
  • Rosehip Seed Oil - regenerates skin to diminish wrinkles, whilst soothing & softening
  • Arnica Montana Flower - aids specifically in reducing dark rings
  • Vitamin E Oil - a powerful antioxidant that repairs damaged skin
  • Lecithin - naturally moisturises whilst allowing each active ingredient to penetrate the dermis
  • Sodium PCA - a highly effective natural amino acid that retains moisture in the skin to enhance overall skin elasticity.
Dr Roebuck's EYE comes packaged in a striking, good quality red plastic jar with silver printing. The logo design conveys its origins as a scientifically created treatment product with physician input.

I found the product to be a thick white cream with tiny black particles in it which you can just see in the photo above.

When applied however there is no grittiness to the cream and it goes on smoothly.

My skin feels richly moisturised and beautifully soft and smooth after use.

After a month of regular use, twice daily,  the delicate skin around my eye does appear somewhat plumper and thus more youthful! Yay! However I can't really see a significant reduction in the dark rings or bags under my eye, but being realistic, I am in my late 40's and I don't think any cream in existence would be able to eliminate these for me now at my age!

I strongly encourage all beauty lovers, especially younger beauty lovers, to start using eye cream a lot earlier than I did to prevent the development of fine lines and wrinkles for as long as possible! I think everyone should be using an eye cream regularly from the age of 20 onwards.

In conclusion, although I wouldn't call Dr Roebuck's EYE my holy grail of eye creams, I do love how intensely moisturising it is and how soft and smooth it leaves the delicate skin around my eyes.

I'm still to find that elusive holy grail eye cream and quite frankly I'm wondering if it even exists!

I suspect the older I get, the more fine lines and wrinkles I develop and the more puffy eyed I become, the more impossible it will be for me to find a holy grail eye cream - lol!

In reality I'm probably searching for a miracle!

Having said that, Dr Roebuck's EYE certainly ticks a lot of the right boxes for me and I would happily repurchase this product to achieve the ongoing rich moisturisation of my eye area it achieved for me.

For younger beauty lovers this eye cream could quite possible be your holy grail eye cream!

At what age did you start regularly using an eye cream?

  2. I'm not sure if the holy grail of eye creams exist either, but I'm happy to try anything to find it!

  3. Sounds good! I use whatever face moisturiser is cheapest at the supermarket. Which is probably NOT the best approach! #notafashionblogger #teamIBOT

  4. Well it's a great price at least. Most eye creams are the best part of $100 which is insane. I have not heard of this brand but will keep it in mind. Great review as usual. :D

    1. I love the hydration this provides. My skin feels lovely after using it! I think this brand might only be available from their own online store and David Jones.

  5. I need to be more purposeful with my use of eye cream - I always forget to use it! It's great this moisturises at least even if it doesn't work on darkness.

    1. On a younger person it quite possible works on their lesser amount of darkness better!

  6. Oooh I would love to give this a go, I use an eye cream now that is great but one that might help reduce the eye puffiness and dark circle would be fab! Thanks for the review :D Jackie - Lipstick, Lattes & Louboutins

  11. I have a few different eye creams but I don't use them as often as I should!! I have a wedding to go to in about a month so I am going to start using an eye cream again so firm my skin and lighten the dark circles. I hope it works!

  14. I have to admit I am a bit hit and miss with beauty products in general but getting more serious about it all now that I won to prize from you! (I've not been to the PO for a week but aiming to collect my mail tomorrow!)

I've moved house and it's a bit of a new start for me so I like the idea of making more of an effort. I used to. Once upon a time I wore Aveda and Dermalogica but when I cut my budget I just stopped using everything but moisturiser... and I don't even do that as often as I should.

  16. I have to admit to being a total cynic about anti-aging products. I doubt anything works other than sunscreen, being blessed with good genes or botox. But what do I know? Glad you liked it.

  17. I have an eye cream and more in my bathroom drawer right now...just need to remember to use it more often. I too do think they cannot always diminish what nature is doing to us but some protective cream is a comfort. Thanks for linking up today.

    1. I often forget about products in my bathroom drawers too. Maybe you need to keep your eye cream on top of your vanity where you'll be reminded to use it.

  19. I've used a couple of different eye creams and obviously I didn't think much of them because I don't use anything now. I should get back there and try to find one...ain't getting any younger!

  20. This does sound lovely Ingrid. I too am seeking the ultimate eye cream - gosh these days we have fillings that match our teeth and invisible braces, so why can't they make an eye cream that turns back time lol?! xxx

    1. Lol! Don't know if I want to completely turn back time, I like where I am right now but I do want to be the best current me possible if that makes sense!

  21. The ingredients look great! Nothing helps my under eye bags either. I was told by a surgeon that the only fix is surgery! yikes! I'm testing out other eye creams now but I do have a HG eye cream that I always will go back to, it makes the biggest difference and it's about $11usd last time I got it. It's Home Health's Goji Eye Cream. Best stuff I've used and it's cheap and big size!! :)

  22. I don't use a specific eye cream, but I have moisturised my face every morning for as long as I can remember, with some product or other. For the last five to ten years, I've just used plain old sorbelene mostly.

  23. This cream looks really lovely! I'm always looking for a cream that might help with the puffiness I get around my eyes. Maybe I should give this a go and pop it in the fridge to see if it helps!
